About The Client
Our client is a US based hedge fund manager who creates their own strategies for stock analysis. Their unique approach to stock analysis requires a specialized tool to test and validate their strategies.
Project Details
Abstrabit was engaged to build a custom desktop app to meet the specific requirements of our client. The app was designed with two components to provide an end-to-end solution for stock analysis.
The first component was an intelligent scheduled scraper that could scrape the trading data of all stocks listed on the NYSE and NASDAQ. The scraper was designed to handle newly listed stock tickers, prevent IP blocking, and perform data cleaning and consolidation.
The second component was a powerful desktop app that enabled users to test different strategies on scraped OHLCV data. The app processed strategies on more than 28 million data points in less than 10 seconds using highly optimized data structures for quick calculation. This provided our client with the ability to analyze large amounts of data and make informed investment decisions.
